My textile sculpture The Low City has been selected for the 12th International Mini and Fibre Art exhibition ‘Scythia’, Ukraine. Very proud to be part of this longstanding international biennial exhibition.

Posted @withregram • @gallery57_contemporaryart This corner shows an interesting mix of working methods and materials - from the right, and casting a lovely shadow is Jane Ponsford’s Cross Reference 2020, handmade cotton rag paper cast onto wire, dyed with oak gall and iron, 24.5x24.5 cm - next, another of Kendall Clarke’s finely woven pieces, An Inclination, handwoven silk, stainless steel and ink painted Japanese Koyari paper 68x33 cm - next, the unmistakable work of Matthew Harris, Triple Cellophane Fragment VII and VIII, acrylic paint and linen paint on constructed cotton cloth, 21x21 cm and 29x27cm and below, one of Cathryn Shilling’s trademark woven glass cloth pieces for which she is best known. I will post photos soon, once the space is cleared. As you would expect from textile related work, there’s an interesting mix of techniques, materials, texture and colour in both 2D and 3D work although all textile work is 3D really whether it’s a framed piece or a free standing form. It’s day 3 of the set up and hopefully the last. As usual @sylvia.quinnell has been generous with her time and a great help - she’s the one that goes up the ladder and finds solutions to the practical problems that crop up as well as having a good eye.
